Loge Pro

For Apple TV, iPhone and iPad

Your films. Your disk. No subscription.

Loge turns the films and series on your hard drive into a library like a streaming service: with posters, descriptions and resume. No account and no monthly fees.

Plus the free Mac app

01 How it works

Plug the disk into your Mac. Done.

Your films live on a hard drive connected to your Mac. The free app Loge Pro Server scans them and adds posters and descriptions. Apple TV, iPhone and iPad on the same Wi-Fi then show the library by themselves.

  • Nothing to convert: Loge plays your files as they are.
  • Start on the TV, finish in bed on the iPad.
  • Take the disk with you. At the holiday home, everything is right there.
  • Wrong poster? Just pick the right film.

02 Files

Plays almost everything you have.

MKV with DTS audio, old AVI files, subtitles from a Blu-ray: Loge plays them without you converting anything first. The picture keeps the quality you saved it in.

DTS and TrueHD audio and older formats such as XviD and VC-1 are prepared by the Mac. Without a Mac, the device plays everything Apple TV, iPhone and iPad can handle on their own.

03 While watching

What makes movie night easy.

01

Subtitles in your language.

Loge shows the subtitles from the file, including those from DVD and Blu-ray, in clear, readable type. If some are missing, Loge can look for them online.

02

Skip the intro.

For series, Loge finds the intro by itself. One press on the remote and the episode carries on.

03

No dropouts mid-film.

If the Wi-Fi hiccups, Loge catches up and keeps playing instead of stopping with an error.

04 Without a Mac

No Mac? That works too.

If your films are on a NAS or a Jellyfin or Emby server, Loge connects to it directly. Open single files from the Files app. Only a few extras are missing then: skipping intros, DTS audio and resuming on another device.

07 Questions

In short.

Do I need a Mac?

No, but with a Mac you get everything. Without one, Loge plays straight from a NAS, a WebDAV folder or a Jellyfin or Emby server, just without skipping intros, DTS audio and resuming on other devices.

Does the Mac have to be on?

Yes. While you watch, the Mac needs to be running and the disk plugged in.

Do I need to rename my films?

Usually not. It works best when the title and year are in the name, like “Heat (1995).mkv”, and for series the episode, like “S01E02”. If Loge gets a film wrong, just pick the right one.

Where do posters and descriptions come from?

For series from TVmaze, no sign-up needed. For films from The Movie Database. That needs a free account; the app shows you how to get it in a few minutes.

My Mac uses a VPN. Does that work?

Yes, as long as the VPN allows devices on your home network. In NordVPN the setting is called “Local network visibility”.

What happens after the 14 days?

You decide. Buy it and everything carries on as before. Without a purchase the app can no longer be used. Your films of course stay where they are.

Which devices do I need?

Apple TV with tvOS 17, iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later. The Mac app runs on macOS 14 or later, on Macs with Apple silicon and Intel.
