Setup

The Apple TV does not find the library.

Apple TV and Mac need to be on the same home network. On first launch the Apple TV asks whether Loge may use the local network; without that permission it finds nothing. If the Mac runs a VPN, it must allow devices on your home network; in NordVPN this is called “Local network visibility”. If the search still finds nothing, enter the address shown in the Loge Pro Server window by hand.

How do I get posters for films?

Film posters and descriptions come from The Movie Database. You need a free account there. In your account settings under “API” you find the “API Read Access Token”, the longer of the two values. Enter it in Loge, most easily on the iPhone, and send it from there to the Apple TV. Series need no access.

How do I get subtitles from the internet?

Loge searches OpenSubtitles and SubDL. For both, create a free account there and enter the key in Loge's settings. The app explains where to find it.

Playback

A film does not play, or plays without sound.

Usually it is the format. Apple TV, iPhone and iPad cannot play DTS or TrueHD audio or older formats such as XviD or VC-1 on their own. The Mac app takes care of that. Without a Mac, Loge marks such films with a note.

Playback stutters.

If the Mac has to prepare a film first, it takes a few seconds to start. After that it plays smoothly. If it keeps stuttering, it is usually the Wi-Fi: connecting the Apple TV by cable helps most.

Purchase

I already bought it, but my new device wants me to pay again.

In the settings under Loge Pro, tap “Restore purchase”. The purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Apple TV on the same Apple ID, and your household through Family Sharing.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
